ABI members include almost all Italian banks or banks active in Italy and a significant proportion of financial intermediaries.

Membership is open to banks and financial companies that are parent companies of banking groups (or a bank designated by the parent company), Italian banks, branches and representative offices of foreign banks in Italy, companies carrying out financial activities, EU banks operating in Italy without a branch, subsidiaries of banks or financial companies carrying out instrumental activities, and associations between banks or between financial companies that are relevant in number, size and nature.
