ABI Innovation Award
The ABI Award for theInnovation in Banking Services, established inl 2011, promotes the role of banks in the pathway for the promotion of innovation in servicesenhancing their contribution to digital transformation. Through the selection and dissemination of outstanding projects, the award aims to strengthen the visibility and reputation of the banking sector.
The ABI Award is part of the National Prize for Innovation ('Prize of Prizes'), established by decree of the President of the Council of Ministersby concession of the President of the Italian Republic, at the Cotec Foundation, to celebrate National Innovation Day.
Applications are collected by ABI Lab as Organising Secretariat and submitted to the evaluation of the Scientific Technical Committee, which is in charge of defining a shortlist of projects. Lhe Jury, made up of authoritative representatives from the business, institutional and academic world, at its sole discretion decrees the winning projects.
The award, which is symbolic and without financial consideration, is given to projects that have distinguished themselves through innovative action, creative skills, continuous problem-solving, interaction and advanced user involvement to optimise systems, processes, operations and respond to the increasing speed and complexity of markets.
Il Premio è aperto alla partecipazione delle Banche Associate ABI.
Participation in the initiative is free of charge.
Edizione 2026
The Premio ABI per l’Innovazione nei Servizi Bancari, promosso dall’Associazione Bancaria Italiana con il supporto di ABI Lab, giunge alla sedicesima edizione e si conferma come un’iniziativa di riferimento per la valorizzazione dell’innovazione nel settore bancario italiano.
L’edizione 2026 intende dare continuità al percorso, valorizzando i progetti che si distinguono per capacità innovativa, qualità delle soluzioni adottate e impatto sui processi, sui servizi e sull’organizzazione. Particolare attenzione è rivolta alle iniziative che, anche attraverso l’utilizzo di nuovi paradigmi tecnologici, contribuiscono a rafforzare la competitività, la resilienza e la sostenibilità del sistema bancario.
Per questa edizione sono stati istituiti sette premi, dedicati a:
- innovazione dei canali di relazione con la clientela;
- evoluzione dell’operatività e dei processi interni;
- sviluppo dell’ecosistema e del territorio;
- sustainability e integrazione dei fattori ESG;
- comunicazione;
- sicurezza e resilienza digitale;
- diffusione della cultura aziendale e sviluppo delle competenze.
The Premio ABI per l’Innovazione si conferma così come un’iniziativa volta a promuovere la condivisione delle migliori pratiche, a diffondere una cultura dell’innovazione responsabile e a sostenere l’evoluzione del settore bancario italiano in un contesto economico e tecnologico in continuo cambiamento.
MODALITÀ DI PARTECIPAZIONE:
Il Premio è aperto alla partecipazione delle banche associate ABI.
La partecipazione è gratuita e il riconoscimento, di natura simbolica, viene assegnato ai progetti che si sono distinti per originalità, capacità di problem solving, coinvolgimento degli utenti e contributo all’innovazione dei modelli bancari.
Le domande di partecipazione e ogni altro documento necessario devono essere inviati a [email protected] entro e non oltre il 13 febbraio 2026.
I vincitori saranno premiati il 26 marzo a Milano in occasione del Forum ABI Lab 2026.
Ogni partecipante può presentare al massimo sette schede di progetto, non più di una per ciascun Premio istituito. Non è possibile prevedere la candidatura contemporanea dello stesso progetto su più premi.
Con le medesime modalità di trasmissione potrà essere inviata ulteriore documentazione, in forma di breve presentazione, video, etc., comunque utile ai fini della valutazione, relativa al progetto presentato. Per ogni ulteriore approfondimento si fa riferimento al Regolamento.

Edition 2025
At 15a edition of the ABI Prize for Innovation in Banking Services, part of the National Prize for Innovation (Prize of Prizes), 21 banks participated with 62 projects.
Solutions were presented to expand the offer of services based on digital channels, to strengthen internal processes for the benefit of customers, to support businesses in the territory, to prevent risks related to computer fraud with a more comprehensive approach, to raise awareness and spread corporate culture, and to innovate communication through dialogue, listening and sharing.
The Jury, made up of representatives from the business, institutional and academic worlds, with the support of the Technical Scientific Committee, identified eight winners for the categories envisaged in the Regulation:
- Innovation Award for Customer Relationship Channels to the Project Digitisation Disavowals presented by Intesa Sanpaolo
- Innovation Award for Project Operations and Processes Early Warning Monitoring presented by Banca Popolare di Sondrio
- Innovation Award for Project Operations and Processes Crypto Sentinel presented by Credito Emiliano
- Innovation Award for Ecosystem and Territory Development to the Project DealSync: a digital ecosystem to democratise access to investment banking for SMEs presented by UniCredit
- Innovation Award for Sustainability to the Project Low Carbon & Sustainability Programme for Small and Mid-caps: the birth of the BNL BNPP Green Desk presented by BNL BNP Paribas
- Innovation Award for Communication to the Project Shots and Portraits presented by Banca Popolare di Puglia e Basilicata
- Innovation Award for Cyber Security to the Project Cyber Security: a virtuous supply chain to support businesses presented by BPER Bank
- Innovation Award for the dissemination of corporate culture and skills development to the Project Makers presented by Sella Group
The Jury also awarded a Special Mention to projects:
- AI for PA presented by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti
- Officine Credem: The Place Where You Breathe Innovation presented by Credito Emiliano
- Relief Loan presented by Banca Mediolanum
Prize of Prizes
The National Innovation Award 'Prize of Prizes' is a prestigious annual award established by concession of the President of the Republic at the Cotec Foundation, to celebrate the winners of the innovation competitions organised in the industry, university and research, public administration, service and craft sectors.
The objective is to foster the growth of the culture of innovation in the country by rewarding the most relevant realities Italians by enhancingne the variety and l'heterogeneity.
The ABI Prize for Innovation in Banking Services participates in the National Innovation Award.
The ABI Award Jury, on the basis of the assessments made during the ABI Awards and taking into account the different types - in terms of business model and size - of the entities that make up the Italian banking sector, identifies the four projects to be nominated for the Award of Awards.
