Culture

The ABI promotes and coordinates projects for the protection and dissemination of art and culture in banks as an engine of development, inclusion and research. The initiative that brings together and coordinates the Association's cultural activities is the 'It's Culture!' Festival. A national event realised with Acri and FEduF which sees banks committed to supporting the cultural and social development of territories, enhancing the growth of communities. The Festival is organised by ABI Servizi - ABI Eventi.

is Culture

The "It's Culture!" initiative, which includes events and appointments throughout Italy and sees the participation of the Bank of Italy, is being held under the high patronage of the President of the Republic and under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism, the Italian National Commission for UNESCO, with Rai Cultura and TgR Rai as media partners.

Among the activities related to 'it's culture!' is the Banks for Culture Observatory, which provides banks with continuous updates on the most innovative and inclusive ways of managing and sharing historical-artistic resources. Through dedicated meetings, the Observatory offers scenario analyses, case studies and spaces for dialogue between banks, experts, planners and specialised companies.

      Library

The ABI Library, which is located in Rome in the Scuderie di Palazzo Altieri, holds more than 10,000 volumes published by banks operating in Italy from the 19th century to the present day and the ACRI Fund consisting of 2,000 works.

The volumes cover a wide range of topics: in addition to numerous art books, there are publications on music, territory, cinema and economic thought.

The Library plays a leading role in banking publishing. Created to enhance the wealth of banking and financial knowledge, this form of publishing, which has been described by Umberto Eco as a "unique phenomenon", has, over time, taken on a broader dimension, often choosing works that no traditional publisher would otherwise publish.

On 26 June 2015, in the presence of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, the Library was named after Stefano Siglientia figure of great importance for republican Italy and president of the ABI for over twenty-five years.

The Stephen Library Siglienti joined the Rome Pole of Cultural Institutes and is part of the National Library System.
