EU Digital Strategy

The EU focuses on resilient infrastructure and safe, accompanied by the adoption of advanced technologies such as Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) or Blockchainand on the regulation of crypto-activity - Markets at Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR). These technologies, applied in financial services, they can facilitate access to financial services and improve their efficiency by opening up also the way to new sustainable economic models.

Another fundamental pillar is the implementation of an'Digital identity to simplify access to online services and ensure secure control over their personal data, reducing the risks of privacy breaches, possible by updating of the regulation eIDAS.

L'artificial intelligence (AI) occupies a central role in the European strategy, seen as enabling technology to improve competitiveness and address global challenges. Through the enactment of theAI Actthe first regulation on the subject, the European Commission aims to promote innovation and competitiveness in the AI sector, while ensuring the protection of consumers, workers and citizens.
