In the two-year period 2022-2023, companies in the sector hired more than 10,000 people per year. National collective bargaining (CCNL) and the second level, which is widespread in companies, provide people with excellent welfare coverage:
- more than 97% of people benefit from the supplementary pension scheme (supplementing the public pension), which is fed by an average company contribution of 4.4% of the salary paid to the individual
- more than 98% of people have supplementary health care coverage, to support medical expenses, with an average premium paid by companies of more than €1,000. A large part of the workforce also benefits from life insurance policies and policies covering occupational and non-occupational accidents
- all persons, through a Foundation and an Assistance Fund provided for by the CCNL, benefit from coverage for medical expenses and assistance in the event of serious disabling events leading to the loss of self-sufficiency, so-called Long Term Care

The national collective bargaining agreement identifies the remuneration to be paid to all staff according to their classification and role, guaranteeing an economic treatment proportionate to the level of professionalism and quality of performance, which is at the high end of those recognised by the various Italian production sectors.
The second level of collective bargaining (company or group) identifies further economic measures that realise, in relation to the economic-productive performance of companies and the results achieved by individuals, the participation of workers in the results of the company and work.
